Do you have an ever growing, insanely large stack of books that haunts you because you know there’s a chance you’ll never read all of those books but you want to because people are raving about them? No way, me too!!
If you are like me and have a lot going on in life then there’s a chance you have a plethora of books that you want to read and/or people have recommended to you. I have so many books that I plan to read at some point but I just keep forgetting or life gets crazy. I was reading steadily until recently I got a part time job and have full time classes. So I don’t have the time like I used to. Also, I am in one of those “I don’t feel like reading” ruts at the moment. With that in mind, hopefully this inspire me to read again! Here’s a very select few from my stash that I intend to read…soon. Enjoy!
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
Set in nineteenth century England, Jane Eyre, an orphan who’s been through a lot, gets a job as a governess for a wealthy Mr. Rochester’s daughter. At first, Jane is unsure of Mr. Rochester but soon finds there is more to him and his household than meets the eye. I watched the BBC adaptation and LOVED it so I have been wanting to read the book. For some reason it just intimidates me…
Wasted: A Memoir of Anorexia and Bulimia by Marya Hornbacher
I think the title tells you quite a bit about this novel already. I am really interested in it’s subject line and learning about the personal side of eating disorders instead of the clinical perspective.
Keep a Quiet Heart By Elizabeth Elliot
I got this book for Christmas and haven’t had the chance to read it. Elizabeth Elliot was a missionary years ago to the Auca tribe in Ecuador and wife of Jim Elliot, who was killed by this tribe as he was trying to communicate with them. Although the Auca killed her husband, Elliot still ministered to them for two years! This book is a collection of her articles on how to rest with Christ and give the tough stuff to Him. Knowing her background, I think if anyone would know how to rest with Christ it’d be Elizabeth Elliot!
Renegades by Marissa Meyer
This book piques my interest because of the sci-fi/dystopian theme. The premise looks promising. Despite this, I still haven’t gotten around to it! It takes place in a dystopian world where people with extraordinary gifts called Renegades operate as super heroes. In a time of need, they rise to the occasion and bring justice and security to those around them. After that, they serve as symbols of courage and hope for the citizens of this society. However, one girl, Nova, seeks vengeance against the Renegades for reasons kept hidden from us readers.Â
The Auschwitz Escape By Joel. C. Rosenberg
This book sounds like so much fun! It focuses on a Protestant pastor and Jewish freedom fighter who find themselves in the Auschwitz concentration camp and decide they have had enough. They have been pushed to their limits. It’s time to break out. My only hang up here is that this book is roughly five hundred pages and frankly, at the moment, I don’t have that kind of time. When I do, though, I am very excited to dive into this novel! Â
Hopefully this small section of my pile will one day get read, but honestly who knows. I may not even want to read them at some point and that’s okay. Reading is a hobby, not a school assignment!

Do you have a TBR (To Be Read) pile? Let me know in the comments!
