Happy New Year everyone!! This year I have read some great books but in the summer of 2021, I read one that really stuck out to me!
In Order to Live by Yeonmi Park was my favorite read of 2021! I have a full review of it where I go more in-depth on it. I have a natural dislike for non-fiction but I preferred this over fiction because of how hard-hitting it was! Fiction is so good and it can be meaningful to a person but there is something incredible about reading about someone who actually existed. I appreciated how condensed it was and how In Order to Live never dragged on. Each page was packed full of ideas, information, and emotions Park experienced during her time in North Korea until she reached freedom. I loved this book so much I am elated I own it because I fully intend on returning to it in the future.

On another note, last year I brought up my plans for the new year and I am proud to say I read the whole Bible in a year! Yesterday I finished and was actually disappointed. It was really nice having everything planned out for an entire year. There were moments I got behind or skipped days but I would just plan to catch up on a day I didn’t have a lot of things to do. I am happy I did it and it was totally worth the time and effort I put into it. So, I have I decided to do it all over again this year just because of how good it was. By 2023 I can say I’ve read the whole Bible through twice! Have a happy new year!
